Something I'd really like to see on the BMW Control is a more immediate media controller. For instance, the blank space on the left option list in the HUD could, when selected, go to a page that plays/pauses with a long click right, skips to the next track with a short click right and skips to the previous with a short click left. Leaving this page could take a long click left and rolling forwards or backwards could increase or decrease the volume. This would be quicker and easier to access than the existing system. Maybe the buttons could open the media app in use?

Hello,

What is planned for the buttons, apart from moving the map?

What I could very well imagine would be if, for example, you have to wait at a level crossing, the machine switches off and the BMW Multicontroller no longer works,  you can still work in the navigation app.

In addition to the current move functions, the following could be added with a long press:

Button A - Enter

Button B - Zoom In

Button C - Zoom Out

Button D - ESC/Back

Hm. I would propose to keep ignition on and wonderwheel active

When I have to stop at a traffic light, I usually switch off the engine using the kill switch. Ignition still is on and I could restart the engine within a second. Therefor also the wonderwheel stays active. For my point of view this is the best practical way reducing air pollution and also avoiding too much time for the restart.

What about user configuration for buttons in the settings, I'd prefer from top to bottom - Up, Down, Left, Right . Obviously everyone is different so choosing your own configuration would be good, maybe even up, left, right, down so the very top button is Up and the very bottom one is down. Also in the HUD having the unused blanks so the user can allocate shortcuts to apps or commands.

@carpe-admin That would be good, when using the HUD and selecting the media it would be good to select Play as one of the first and then next/back or even shuffle if possible. At the minute you have to scroll through unused blank 'buttons' which seems pointless. User configuration will be good.

Hello @carpe-admin

Few days ago I got and installed BMW controller kit. Great product, works fine, generally I am happy indeed. There are many areas to be even better, but as for the young product, it is very good. Installation is simple and straight forward, no problems at all.

My first question: Is there any fixed date planned for the "buttons user configuration(s)" functionality? I know you said planned and soon, but since I would really prefer sequence for the (A,B,C,D) as (up,down, left, right) there is no point in making a habit of (right, left, up, down).

Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Sev.

PS: I am happy to report that BMW controller now works pretty good with DMD (ver 3.00022). Only "ESC" button is missing (could be wheel-long-left?) and with that it would be 100% perfect.

There is no fixed date for the buttons user configuration as of yet, but we are doing what we can to get it out there at the beginning of this years riding season.

Is it possible to have buttons user configuration as a functionality in the current app, without waiting for the next gen hub?

It's pity to wait for the one function some of us really need, just because we are waiting for so many other functions that we don't necessarily need...

I'd like to use the Controller as a launcher - shortcuts to launch apps like aftermarket nav, music (even comms - would be good - how about a push to talk "PTT" function?) etc - the wheel integration works great for navigation.
