As much as we wanted to make that happen within August, it is going to slip into September. Sorry guys. We do what we can, but the finishing touches are taking longer than expected. Either way, it is really going to be days (more than couple, though).
Upon release, some of the advanced features such as charging limitation for on-the-bike use and auto-start/auto-power down will not be present. They will come a bit later through an update (no user data loss).
Also GPS fine-tuning will be done a bit later. That said, you will see improvement in stability immediately after update already.
Looking forward to get this update (as many other customers)…
Any news regarding the Android 11 upgrade?
@motodax I am really sorry for the delays. I know we announced August after postponing from July. But we are really working on that every day and are at a phase to start deploying among users that are close by (for the case of some unexpected issues) within one or two days. Unfortunately the final "touches" turned out to be much more time consuming than what we expected. Where do you live? Would you volunteer to be the first user to test it? (we have been internally testing for weeks now so there shouldn't be anything major, if anything).
@carpe-admin Hey, I'd like to valounteer to test it. My trip scheduling still in a month, so I have time.
Hello,
If you are interested, I will be happy to help with testing. I'm from Prague 🙂
@laode where are you from? Just in case of something going south. Better to test when you are within EU. But obviously we are testing number times before you get the package. It's just not without a risk until more people start updating and real world gets its say. What we had to do is not exactly standard - we are installing from RAM (the whole storage needs to be repartitioned). So that it doesn't sound too scary though: so far not a single fail during update tests 🙂
I'm from Indonesia. Let's go! I'm ready. Just let me know the steps and I'll do the rest. I flashed my phone rom before few times. So I won't get panicked easily 😀
Hi, I'm from the Czech Republic (Prague) I think it's about 10 Km to the manufacturer CARPE 🙂
Hi, I would test it…Hamburg, Germany….no big tours ahead….just local trips…
@carpe-admin Well, you have plenty option for valounteer. Hamburg, Czech Republic, Indonesia. We are ready!
I could run the update too - Munich, Germany
Can you give us an update - September is nearly over 🙂
Sorry for laying low on this topic for a while 😇 . There are issues with remote update on some older units. And really only some, which makes it more difficult to resolve - the problem is not general. We are working on that really hard and I am sure this will be cracked very soon (days). And I am really sorry it is taking so long.
Update 23/10/16 (do NOT perform Factory reset)
Hey Guys, we are really sorry for the delays, but you can try the update now - again, please consider holding off until others tried it, if you live outside continental EU. Although the process was tested number of times on units from various production runs and all runs smoothly here.
PLEASE give your feedback here on both your experience with the updating process and of course especially about any problems you might encounter.
